Core Values and Standards of Conduct
Our values provide a solid base for the ORLEN Group, determining the path to the achievement of ambitious goals by the organisation and by its people.
'The Core Values and Standards of Conduct of PKN ORLEN S.A. ' offer guidance on relations inside and outside the Company. The document covers our relations with trading partners, local communities and competitors, comprehensively addressing ethical issues related to human rights, diversity, equal opportunity or preventing corruption. The document, which has also been implemented at the Group companies, complements the Company’s business strategy by placing emphasis on building good relations and mutual trust within the organisation.
It also provides a way for employees to log their doubts or any irregularities they notice. An Ethics Officer and a Human Capital Committee are now active at PKN ORLEN. In 2015, no instances of alleged bribery or corruption were reported to the Ethics Officer. Thanks to a series of training sessions for employees (including newly-hired employees, during adaptation meetings) and management, and the dedicated electronic training platform, employees’ concerns about corporate values or ethical conduct can be addressed and doubts clarified. The subject of human rights is brought up during various training sessions and internal meetings. In the reporting period, there was no record of any instances of discrimination on grounds of sex, race, age or disability.
The innovative approach to corporate ethics places the ORLEN Group at the forefront of companies prepared for challenges of the future, as evidenced by the fact that the independent Ethisphere Institute named PKN ORLEN ‘The World’s Most Ethical Company’ thrice, in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
